Autonomous Orbital Logistics Engineer
Own the autonomy that moves mass between orbits without a person in the loop for every manoeuvre. The work spans rendezvous planning, autonomous docking behaviour, and the ground software that supervises it, and it is judged on vehicles that arrive.

What the role is responsible for.
- Develop and qualify autonomous rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking sequences for logistics vehicles.
- Own the fault tree for autonomous manoeuvre and the abort logic that follows from it.
- Support console operations during active phases, including off-hours rotation.
- Work with guidance, navigation, and control to close the loop between planned and flown trajectories.
- Feed flight anomalies back into the simulation environment so the next vehicle inherits the lesson.
What we need you to bring.
- Seven or more years in flight software, GNC, or mission operations for an orbital vehicle.
- Direct experience with rendezvous and proximity operations, in flight or in high-fidelity simulation.
- Strong applied orbital mechanics and the numerical methods that go with it.
- Flight-grade software practice — review discipline, traceability, and verification.
- Eligibility for sponsored TS vetting and for space-access programme approval.
Useful, not essential.
- Experience with cislunar or non-Earth-orbit trajectory design.
- Console-qualified on an operational vehicle.
- Familiarity with autonomous cargo handling or robotic capture.
We read the preferred list as a description of a useful background, not a checklist. Candidates who meet the required list and none of the preferred are regularly hired.
Who you would be joining.
Orbital Logistics is roughly thirty engineers split between Houston and Kourou, with a permanent console presence. The team supports Program 014 supply flights alongside commercial and consortium manifests.
What to know before you apply.
Space-access approval is a separate process from clearance and is sponsored. Rotation schedules are set in writing before you accept.
All candidates undergo comprehensive vetting. Reasonable accommodation is available at any stage — say so in your first note and it will be arranged. We do not use unverified third-party recruiters, and we never ask a candidate for a fee.
