What the role is responsible for.
- Develop perception, localisation, and planning software for autonomous ground vehicles.
- Own the degraded-conditions behaviour — snow, dust, occlusion, and loss of positioning.
- Lead field trials, including the instrumentation needed to learn anything from them.
- Integrate software with vehicle hardware and diagnose across that boundary.
- Keep the simulation environment honest against measured field performance.
What we need you to bring.
- Six or more years in robotics software, with real outdoor deployment experience.
- Depth in at least two of: perception, state estimation, motion planning, controls.
- Strong C++ and Python, and the debugging skill to work on a vehicle in the field.
- Willingness to spend real time outdoors in poor conditions.
- Full driving licence.
Useful, not essential.
- Experience with lidar-inertial or radar-based localisation in feature-poor terrain.
- Prior work on agricultural, mining, defence, or polar autonomy.
- Familiarity with functional safety for mobile machinery.
